I'm watching you

I am a vain little monkey and as such, I check out my blog stats DAILY. I use a clever little tool called SiteMeter (logo to the right) to track my progress.

I just like to know how many people are reading my blog each day and where my hits are from. No, it doesn't tell me who is reading, just what city, state, and country there are from and how long they spent on the site.

My favorite stat to follow is the referral log, which allows you to see how people are finding the site. This includes links from other sites, e-mail messages, search engines, etc. Today, I tracked back one of these referrals to a Goggle search for "do elephants eat all day, what else do they do".

My blog was the third result found... the THIRD! and even though the description of my blog indicates that I have NOTHING to offer in regard to elephant trivia, they actually clicked on the link to see what I had to say.

I guess they were really serious about finding out what elephants do all day, because they only spent a minute on this blog before moving on...

Nevertheless, isn't that funny?
