It's the first week back to school around here, so I decided to get my act together, too...
Today, we went back to Gymboree after taking a long summer break, so it's just like "back to school". My son is in the next level with a new teacher, new format, and everything. Was he totally excited to be back?
YES!!!!
He could barely contain his joy as I unbuckled his car seat and he realized where we were. It was also nice to be reunited with his BFF (and favorite Gymboree buddy) again. There was laughter and dancing the likes of which I haven't witnessed in weeks!
After class, we accompanied our friends to the book store, then the park-- BOTH deserted and peaceful thanks to the big kids being away all day and their mommies joyfully toasting the silence at home.
What? No judgement. I would totally be drinking too...
We played in the sandbox undisturbed for almost an hour! No scouting for toys that someone else "borrowed" and abandoned on the other side of the park. No reminding other people's kids "stop throwing things". No one interfering with our fun. Just us and the 100 degree sand.
Hurray for Back to School!
