My husband and I were chatting before bed earlier this week when I asked if he had Monday (Labor Day) off...
Since becoming a SAHM, I have no days or every day (depending on how you look at it) "off", so things like national holidays are essentially meaningless to me. Well, apparently there are even more meaningless to Hubby because he had no clue...
"We should do something fun like take a trip this weekend!" I suggested.
"Yeah, why not?" he agreed, "Where should be go?"
We threw out a few suggestions before dozing off, but I planned to hop online and find a swanky Last Minute Deal the following day. Next thing we knew, we were being jolted out of our sleep in the middle of the night by our son's screams. He had a terrible dream and needed to be comforted by both mommy and daddy. Then suddenly, it was morning. Our alarm didn't go off or maybe we slept through it...
Hubby had to be in the office for a meeting in half an hour, but the commute takes twice that long and he was still in his boxer shorts helping get our son and I out the door to Gymboree. The homeowners association sent another letter threatening a strong reprimand unless we edge the yard THIS WEEKEND and the moms' group need volunteers to sell Passbooks after Mass...
The next day, my husband and I decided we're too exhausted to leave the house...much less plan a trip. Instead, we plan to unhook our phones, turn off the computers, and spend this weekend catching up on sleep. Precious, elusive sleep.
So much for running off to the Caribbean or Cabo for the weekend. I guess those days are over for us. So OHHH-VER!
Happy Labor Day!

It is so true, when you are a SAHM, there are no days off! Sometimes I have to remind my husband "it is my weekend to..."
Happy Labor Day!
A-men Sister.
I couldn't have said it better myself. I had no idea when I quit work that I'd actually be working more, harder, longer etc. Sigh.
It's so sad isn't it?!
Vacations...sleep...
Ah parenthood!
Yeah, I tried to get organize us for a getaway, but it didn't work out, either.
Sounds like our weekend here.
Interesting article you got here. I'd like to read something more about that topic. The only thing I would like to see here is some pictures of any devices.
