DAY FIVE: I'm grateful for a full night of blogging, er... sleep.
My son has been badly congested and, in light of the recent ban on everything that I swear helps him feel better, I've turned to "alternative" remedies...
Of course, none of them have worked and our son wakes up every few hours, needing to be comforted. Since there really is nothing we can do at this point, we've all basically resigned ourselves to a few more miserable nights of very little sleep.
I and all the tired mommies and daddies out there shake our fists at you FDA.
Still, I really can't complain. The other day I asked my friend about life with a toddler and a newborn, she told me things were going really well. Better than expected, in fact! Her new daughter only gets up to nurse every three hours, so they are, "actually getting to sleep with this one," she said.
Up every three hours?! I most certainly don't call that sleeping...
We knew what that was like once, but that phase in our life seemed to go by so fast. These days, my son (typically) sleeps through the night, which means we can too. (Or squander the time on blogging, but whatever...)
Sometimes I take that luxury for granted and need a night like tonight or a good story about bad colic to realize how good we have it.

OMG do I hear you! At night when they are sleeping is about the only time you can get anything done. Who needs sleep? We are women hear us roar! Unless we need sleep - lol

I'm enjoying your 'Daily Thanks' series.
Blogging-sleep...it's a toss up. I want to pick sleep, I really do...
I read another blog about apple cider vinegar. Last week my husband started getting sick and we added a few teaspoons to his tea and it was gone the next day. usually he will end up sick for a few weeks. I also read you can rub it on a child's chest and it is supposed to stop the cough in 20 minutes. I will have to wait for a sick child to try that one.
Sleeping rocks.....almost as much as blogging.....almost. :)
G'day from Australia,
Came here from Nap Warden. Our eldest was a very colicky baby - so I know what sleep deprivation is all about.
Zzzzzzzz....
Cheers
David
#3 wakes every 2 hours and that is actually way better than his brothers, so I'm a happy mama. I hope your little one is better soon!
