Get me off this crazy ride...

Trains are decidedly the thing this year. Every little boy I know LOVES them.

Is it any shock that come Christmas morn my son will be greeted by his very own train table, complete with a wooden track and multiple train pieces?

A train table, by the way, that we have NO ROOM to put anywhere, but we bought anyway...

After finding countless ads that read: "we spent hundreds/thousands of dollars buying this train set piece by piece, and our son never plays with it anymore", I did my due diligence and bought everything second hand (and rather gently used) on Craigslist. ( I heart Craigslist, by the way.)

This afternoon I was scouring the Internet for some additional train pieces. Since my son already has "Thomas", I was on the hunt for "Annie and Clarabel".

I was in the middle of explaining to Hubby that "we just have to get Annie and Clarabel, since they are the two coaches that Thomas always pulls behind him, as well as his closest friends", when I realized...

WHY DO I KNOW THIS?

A year ago, I had no clue that there were any other trains besides Thomas, much less what the difference is between the "Take Along Thomas" and the "Classic Wooden Railway"...

... and so it begins.

OK. I've learnt something new today. I know about Thomas, James and Percy but I never knew about Annie and Clarabel!

LOL, I always laugh at my friends who have boys because they know every single Thomas-type train's name by sight, as well as who is friends with who or not. But then again, I can tell you which Little Pony is Pinkie Pie or Minty or Sparkleworks... Sigh.

Yup, we thought we knew everything there was to know. Then the kids come along. I suppose we should have clarified that we knew everything worthwhile there was to know.

(I heart Craigslist, too!)

Yes, it saddens me that I know the names of all the Teletubbies...Did I say saddens? I meant sickens!

All of my kids liked Thomas. Some of you may remember when it was part of a show called Shining Time Station with Ringo Starr and later George Carlin. But my youngest daughter was biggest into Thomas and the gang. We did not get everything but we sure had a lot! My friends would assume it was left over from my son...but no, it was all the girl's.

*snigger* thankfully I am totally out of that stage. Now they want electronics..... and that is the husbands domain.

And my garage is full of Thomas stuff..

It would be fun to get our kids together to wallow around in their mutual love of all things Thomas! My son just got Annie & Clarabel last weekend, he almost wept from the joy.
