At long last, I've decided to join the revolution!
I figured if everyone is doing it, I should give it a try. I've never been the cool kid in school, so I'm okay with being a bit behind. What can I say? I'm a late blogger... (har, har, har). I'm just here to see what it's all about… and to vent.
You see, I recently resigned from my job in online marketing at a rather larger travel company to be a stay at home mom. ("SAHM", for those down with the acronyms.) I hope this will be a nice outlet for me to talk about the new world of adventures and mishaps coming my way...and answer the worst question you can ask a SAHM, “so, what do you do all day?"
“WHAT DO I DO ALL DAY?!” No question infuriates me more. It takes all my will power not to scream out loud, followed by a stream of colorful expletives and possibly some kicking.
What do you think I do all day??? Umm, for starters, I take care of my sweet, charming young son. While no other task delights me more (yes, even on the “challenging days”), I consider it a privilege to be with home with him.
Even though my husband, our families, close friends and most of all, our son is very supportive, nay, down right ecstatic about my decision to be a SAHM, some people just don’t get it…
I've only been "offically" at it for a week-- a single week-- and already I've been subjected to plenty of obnoxious comments and awkward situations. For the most part, I try to have a sense of humor about it and resist the urge to be TOO defensive.
I happen to think some of the things I encounter make for some HILARIOUS stories after the fact. Hopefully, you will too.
Welcome and Enjoy!

I guarantee you do a hell of a lot more all day than I do.
Also, I now have an uncontrollable craving for cupcakes.
Congratulations. I quit my job about a week ago as well, because I couldn't stand the nearly two hour commute. It feels great to do what makes sense to you. Good luck with the blog and hanging with your son!
