Pointless Political Conversation with my Parents

Mom: Who are you voting for now?

Me: Barack Obama

Mom:
WHAT! He's not a Republican.

Me: Nope

Dad: I will never vote Democrat. If a dog ran for the Republican party, I would vote for the dog.

Me:
That's just because you like dogs.

Dad: I do like dogs.

lol. My parents are both very liberal Democrats. In our situation I am the conservative one. If I even say the name Bush, its big trouble!!

I'm pretty sure the republicans already voted for the dog!

Sounds like a conversation I'd have with my husband or inlaws.

Did your dad equate Barack Obama with a dog? lol

Whatever happened to independents...voting for the best person...I would vote for either party...or neither party...as long as I liked the candidate!

This post is exactly the reason I do not discuss politics with my dad or religion with my mom.
